HUNTERSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT: How To Stay Safe At Power Outage
0Comments

Huntersville Fire Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.

We’ve been getting the word out all week, across multiple news networks. Ice & power outages are our concerns with this storm. Only use 911 for actual emergencies. Power outages:

Duke Energy: 1-800-Power-On

Energy United: 1-800-Eunited

ElectriCities: 704-892-7426

Our tips:

– Immediately test & ensure that your smoke and CO alarms are operational & have NEW batteries.

– Avoid using candles for light and/or heat.

– Do not use the oven for heat.

– Space heaters – plug into the wall socket directly, no extension cords, not a permanent solution.

– Generators should be outside (front porch, garage or back porch is NOT outside).

– Charge all your devices NOW well ahead of the storm.
