Town of Cornelius Parks and Recreation Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Cornelius Parks & Recreation is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and responsible person to work in a fun environment with children in a summer day camp setting. This person will be responsible for the direction and supervision of all Summer Day Camp counselors and daily activities; the day-to-day planning, organizing, implementation, and handling of disciplinary issues with campers and/or parents if needed; and creating weekly camp descriptions, scheduling field trips, and conducting staff training

The Summer Day Camp Director position is seasonal, with the option to work in other areas within the department once the camp season has concluded. This position will have hours that occur from January – August. Work hours from January to May will be used for summer day camp planning, ranging from 0 to 25 hours per week. This position is expected to work 40 hours per week during the weeks of Summer Day Camp, generally from early June through mid-August.

This person will work in a fun environment with children, and be responsible for the direction and supervision of all Summer Day Camp counselors and daily activities.
