With the holiday season among us, police departments all over the country see an increase in the number of packages stolen from doorsteps.
Cornelius Police would like to suggest a few crime prevention tips when having packages delivered this holiday season and all year round.
Have packages delivered to where you are, not where you aren’t.
Select the shipping option that requires a signature.
Install a security camera or doorbell camera.
Pick up packages at a local post office or use a smart package locker, such as Amazon locker.
Keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles and people in your neighborhood and report suspicious activities.
