Town of Garner Fire Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

With the extremely cold weather headed our way, we encourage everyone to practice safe heating methods, especially should power be interrupted!

Never use grills or outdoor-type heat sources inside.

Keep generators at least 10 ft away from the home and use properly rated extension cords.

Be careful with hot ashes from your fireplace.

Don’t use your open stove door to heat your home.

See more below!

Above all…make sure your smoke and CO alarms are in proper working order.

 Stay warm and stay safe!
