TOWN OF HUNTERSVILLE: Main Street Monthly Project Update (July 23, July 2021)

Town of Huntersville issued the following announcement on Jul. 23. 

Since the project construction started in Mid-June:
· Contractor has mobilized
· Utility poles have been removed
· Grading has begun
· Tree and stump-removal
· Potholing for utilities
· Erosion control has begun at the southern end of Main St. by Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd (new roundabout location)

Anticipated construction schedule for the next 30 days are as follows, subject to weather and other factors:
· Tree removal will continue on the northern end of project
· Waterline work will begin Monday, July 26 in the area of the southern roundabout and proceed northward on both Main St. and NC-115 (Old Statesville Rd)
· In early August 2021, Main St. will be closed to through traffic from Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd to Greenway St. Local traffic only will be able to access that portion of roadway.
· NC-115 (Old Statesville Rd) and Church Street will serve as alternate routes and (see picture below)
· Intermittent lane closures are anticipated on NC-115 (Old Statesville Rd) throughout project limits for utility and tree work.
