Town of Matthews issued the following announcement on May 16.

Update (1803) Williams Rd. is now back open. 

Matthews Fire & EMS has responded to Fence Post Ln. due to downed power lines and the Windsor Landing apartments due to a downed tree. Per Duke Energy, there are approximately 1000 power outages. 

Williams Rd. is closed at the 3100 block due to downed power lines. This roadway is expected to remain closed for the next several hours. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.
