TOWN OF MINT HILL: Events and Activities Remind For The Next Several Months

0Comments

Town of Mint Hill issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.

Hard to believe that we are over halfway through the summer.  We have a lot of events and activities I want to remind you of over the next several months.

The Town of Mint Hill Military Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a tribute created to honor our veterans.  Banners will be on display on light poles with the veteran’s photo, name, conflict/war and branch of service. Family and friends wishing to honor a loved one for their military service can obtain an application at https://buff.ly/3A4f1td.  Banners will be available on a first come, first-serve basis.

We have two more Family Fun Nights on August 20 and September 17.  These events are family friendly and bring the community together for a night of wholesome fun. Family Fun Nights are free and open to the public. In addition to the concert, the event includes a kid zone, food trucks, family games and water fun with the Mint Hill Fire Department. The events start at 6:30 pm at Mint Hill Veterans Park.

Our second Music & Brews will take place on September 10.  Join us for a night of music, brews and food under the stars, featuring a variety of music by High Fidelity, LLC.  The event start at 6:30 pm at Mint Hill Veterans Park.

The Annual Scarecrow Decorating Contest will take place October 1-31. Help us reach our goal of 100 scarecrows and enter to win $500.  The application will be available later in August.

The Tina Ross Afternoon in the Park, formerly known as Sunday Afternoon in the Park, will feature hand made goods from local artists and take place on October 1 around the fountain at Town Hall.

Later in October, the Madness will begin.  Mint Hill Madness promises something for everyone in the family; delicious food, great music ranging from country to rock, a fantastic family carnival, the Miss Mint Hill Scholarship Pageant and of course, my favorite the SPECTACULAR fireworks show. Join us October 20-22 at Mint Hill Veterans Park for a weekend of fun.

On November 12 we will honor all our veterans at our Annual Veterans Breakfast.  This event is open to all veterans.  If you would like to be added to the invitation list, please call Mint Hill Town Hall at 704-545-9726.

Finally, the Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will take place on December 3.  Last year, over 1000 people participated in this annual tradition.  The parade will travel from Bain School down to the Mint Hill Library.  Afterwards, join us for food trucks and entertainment at Town Hall for the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and a visit with Santa.

I hope to see you around Town.
