Town of Mint Hill issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Veterans Memorial Park soccer fields and paved walking path are closed for construction of the new fields and path.

Fencing has been installed and signs posted—please obey all closed area restrictions.

Even if it appears as though no work is happening at the moment, there are still hazardous conditions present.

These areas will tentatively reopen in spring/summer 2023 after the work is complete.

Other areas available to walk include the nature trail at Veterans Park and the walking path at Wilgrove Park.

For field sports and games, the softball and multi-purpose field at Veterans Park will remain open.
