Matthews, NC - During their meeting on Monday night, the Town of Matthews Board of Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution in support of a Mecklenburg County-wide requirement for face coverings in certain circumstances to ensure all measures to protect the safety and health of all citizens and businesses to slow the spread of COVID-19 are being implemented.
“The Centers for Disease Control have determined wearing a face covering is a useful preventative measure to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Mayor John Higdon. “While the town will not actively enforce compliance, it is my hope our citizens will respect their neighbors and tolerate the minor inconvenience of wearing a face covering when in situations where social distancing cannot be honored."
