Mecklenburg County's Department of Social Services (DSS) joined an accumulation of community partners to launch the MeckBetterTogether website.
This website was created to assist child and family agencies to support families and protect children amid COVID-19, the Department of Social Services said in an Aug. 17 press release.
The MeckBetterTogether website lists services that are accessible to children and youth. These services generally provide learning possibilities as well as recreational, social and emotional support, the release said. This website also provides support for parents by helping them relieve stress related to job loss or jeopardized health due to the coronavirus crisis.
"As the new school year begins and the pandemic remains, these resources can assist thousands of residents throughout the community," the DDS said in the press release.
Mecklenburg County, the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, Smart Start, Child Care Resources Inc., Children's Alliance, Foundation for the Carolinas and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library have all teamed up to launch the website.
Residents can access and partake in the MeckBetterTogether resource online.
