Town of Davidson issued the following announcement on Sept. 12.
Installation began today, Monday, September 12, for new public electric vehicle chargers in the Town of Davidson. The town was recently awarded participation in the Duke Energy Park and Plug Pilot Program, and two sites have been selected in Davidson for the installation of public Level 2 charging stations. The stations will be located at 568 Jetton Street near Harris Teeter at the Circles @ 30, and at Davidson Town Hall at 216 S. Main Street.
Of the opportunity, Davidson’s Natural Assets and Sustainability Coordinator Charlene Minor said “we’re so pleased to be able to add these chargers as resources for our residents and visitors. We hope that by offering these chargers at key public locations, more people may consider using EVs. We know EVs provide a better option with less impact to the environment for those who must travel by car. Everything we can do to make Davidson a more sustainable community is a big win!”
Davidson is currently reviewing additional locations for additional charging stations and hopes to take advantage of state and utility rebate programs that are currently available.
