Town of Mint Hill issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.
Last week our area experienced the first hurricane of the season. Although we saw some power outages and weather-related challenges, I am thankful the impact was minimal. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who experienced a much more significant impact.
Mint Hill Public Works continues to work diligently to clear trees that have fallen in the road or right away. If you have a tree that fell on your property, there are several local companies and contractors who will support those efforts. Be cautious of scam artist posing as legitimate contractors.
The Town of Mint Hill is currently accepting applications for the Board of Adjustment. The Board of Adjustment hears zoning appeals and requests for variances from the zoning ordinance. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at Mint Hill Town Hall. Appointments are made at the December Board of Commissioners meeting. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the application. For more information, contact the Town Clerk, Michelle Wells at 704-545-9726.
We are a little over 2 weeks away from the Annual Mint Hill Madness Festival. This year’s festival kicks off on Thursday, October 20th and concludes on Saturday, October 22nd with the area’s largest fireworks display. We invite you to come and enjoy this family-friendly event that includes carnival rides, three days of live entertainment, the Miss Mint Hill Scholarship Pageant, and double the fabulous food vendors.
Mint Hill Madness would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors. We are excited about our partnership with Novant Health – Mint Hill Medical Center. On Thursday and Friday, the Critical Care Helicopter and staff will be on the lower soccer field to answer questions and pose for photos. On Friday and Saturday, Novant staff will offer free COVID-19 vaccines and flu shots.
Have a great week!
